JISC Digital Media: it does what it says on the tin

I attended the launch of the new and improved JISC Digital Media (formerly known as TASI) yesterday, to hear about what they?ve been up to, and to see their very nice new (and very colourful!) website.

As they say in their blurb, JISC Digital Media supports FE and HE communities ?to embrace and maximise the use of digital media - and to achieve solutions that are innovative, practical and cost effective? ? their remit covers still images, moving images and sound.

The new website has very clearly defined sections on their advice and fact sheets, training and blogs and is very easy to use. The service has a helpdesk which you can ring with technical questions or if you need help with setting up new projects from scratch.

They also plan to offer new online tools on the site later this year for content editing and management.

Training currently on offer includes building a departmental management image collection, copyright and digital images and optimising your images using Adobe Photoshop, all useful stuff and at a very reasonable cost ? go have a look!
