Using and accessing information resources

The RIN seeks to understand how information providers, such as libraries, are developing their services and how researchers are using them, particularly in this era of rapid technological change

Communicating and disseminating research

We aim to promote a better understanding of the research life-cycle in terms of scholarly communications: from undertaking and publishing research work to the provision of long-term access and preservation services

Data management and curation

We investigate arrangements for the creating, sharing and use of research data and related policy implications, recognising the need to ensure that the UK research community is served by high quality digital information resources that are easily accessible

Research funding: policy and guidance

In a context of rapid change, researchers, research institutions, funders, and information service providers have a need for authoritative advice and guidance on the implications for policy, strategy and service development

Researcher development and skills

We investigate arrangements for training and staff development for researchers and information specialists in the context of using and accessing information resources and services
