BBSRC Policies and Position Statements

This page is a point to access all the latest policies and position statements being applied by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), including some FAQs to help clarify issues. Several policies are available, including data sharing, impact, intellectual property, and access to research outputs.
The BBSRC’s planning is informed by consultation with the research community, policy and industrial end-users of our science, and the wider public. This addresses key challenges and opportunities in biosciences, including being able to ensure a sustainable and world-class research base, and keep the UK the European location of choice for investment in bioscience R&D. They also look to develop the new approaches and technologies needed as bioscience becomes increasingly quantitative and predictive as well as accelerating the translation of research outputs into business and policy applications to increase social and economic impact. They are also committed to providing skilled scientists for research and business. Policymakers may wish to consider this page that offers such a wide range of policy statements from one of the seven UK Research Councils.
[There is a wide range of documentation available on this site, and just one of the policies is attached below for consideration]
