The Alliance aims to develop a shared vision and framework for a sustainable organisational infrastructure for permanent access to scientific information, fostering the development of an ecosystem of trusted digital repositories to enable Europe to fully exploit the potential of European scientific collaboration.

The members reflect most of the key organisations working in this field across Europe. They see the permanent accessibility, quality assurance and preservation of key collections as the major driving forces for the advancement of science and for applications: more details on this can be found on this page of their site. There sections are clearly labelled in the sidebar, including their events. The theme of the Annual Conference in 2009 was ‘Keeping the Records of Science Accessible: towards a sustainable science data e-infrastructure’, and the outputs from this event are accessible.
